When talking about Ford I don't mean the automobile company !! I'm talking about Tom Ford the Austin Texas born American designer and film director (A Single Man). He gained international fame for his turnaround of the Gucci fashion house and the creation of the Tom Ford label. Ford worked at Chloe and Perry Ellis before moving on to become Gucci and YSL's creative director in 1994. In April 2005, Ford announced the creation of the TOM FORD brand and his first flag ship store located in New York at 845 Madison Ave. In March 2005, Ford announced the opening of his film production company, FADE TO BLACK. In 2009, Ford made his film directorial debut with A Single Man, which was based on the novel of the same name by Christophe Isherwood. A Single Man was nominated for two Independent Spirit Awards in 2009 including Best First Feature and Best First Screenplay.
