When MTV first hit the seen in the early 80's they actuality played music videos. There were no Real World or Jersey Shore. Nothing but videos there's one band that still sticks out in my mind. Judas Priest is an English heavy metal band from Birmingham UK, Their popularity and status as one of the definitive heavy metal bands has earned them the nickname "Metal Gods" the group has sold over 45 million albums worldwide and were named the 78th greatest artist of all time by VH1 and 2nd Greatest Metal Band by MTV.
